Daisy Ridley Says ‘It’s Going To Be A While’ Before ‘Episode VIII’ Title Reveal

While some details have surfaced regarding Star Wars: Episode VIII, fans are still waiting on a title announcement. Many thought that maybe at Star Wars Celebration a title would be unveiled or at San Diego Comic Con but both events have come and gone and still, no title.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens star Daisy Ridley opened up about Episode VIII during a recent podcast interview but indicated that the title wouldn’t be released for a while.

“I heard a title, but I don’t know if it’s going to be that. I really don’t know much about anything. I heard the title a long time ago before we started filming, and so I feel some things have slightly tweaked during production. It’s going to be a while before it’s released I imagine.”

With Rogue One being released in December, it seems likely that Disney would take this opportunity to promote Star Wars: Episode VIII.

Rogue One follows a group of Rebel fighters who come together in order to steal the plans for the Death Star. The film stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, and Jonathan Aris. The film will be released on December 16th.

Star Wars: Episode VIII stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Lupita Nyong’O, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern, Kelly Marie Tran, and Andy Serkis. The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson, and it will be playing in a galaxy far, far away (or in your local theater) on December 15, 2017.
