Damon Lindelof’s ‘Watchmen’ Wins Big At The Emmys

Damon Lindelof’s Watchmen cleaned up at the Emmys after it reinvented what Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ legendary graphic novel could mean in the 21st century.

Watchmen fans were stunned at what the HBO series from Damon Lindelof pulled off last year as it shifted the focus onto racism in America while also honoring the events of the graphic novel. And after it was nominated for an impressive 26 Emmys the show cleaned up at the awards, winning 11 different categories, including Outstanding Limited Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series for Regina King and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

Damon Lindelof’s Watchmen also won for the writing of the episode This Extraordinary Being, Casting, Music Composition, Sound Mixing, Sound Editing, Cinematography, Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes and Single-Camera Picture Editing. Watchmen star Regina King posted a short video on Twitter thanking the fans of the show as well as the rest of the cast and crew behind the series. The Watchmen win is King’s fourth Emmy, which says everything you need to know about her acting talents. Take a look at the video below.

The series is produced for HBO by White Rabbit in association with Warner Bros. Television, based on Alan Moore’s graphic novel co-created and illustrated by Dave Gibbons and published by DC.
