Premiere Date For Damon Lindelof’s ‘Watchmen’ HBO Series Potentially Revealed

HBO’s Watchmen premiere date may have been revealed ahead of an interview with executive producer Damon Lindelof..

There’s still a few months before HBO’s Watchmen makes its way on screen, but the premiere date might’ve been revealed by a fan account with a copy of an interview with Damon Lindelof, the executive producer of HBO’s Watchmen. Watchmen is based on Alan Moore’s graphic novel and is set in an alternate timeline where superheroes are branded as criminals. The series will take place after the Watchmen have disbanded (again). However, HBO’s Watchmen serves as a spiritual successor rather than a direct sequel.

The show was always set to arrive in October, but now a premiere date has seemingly been confirmed within a TV Guide that this fan account on Instagram got hold of. At the start of an interview with Damon Lindelof, the publication mentions the airdate — it seems like HBO will air Watchmen on October 20 at 9PM. Damon Lindelof and HBO’s take on Watchmen already seems like a refreshing take on the incredibly source material if the intial footage is anything to go by.

Here is the official synopsis for HBO’s Watchmen series from Damon Lindelof:

Set in an alternate history where “superheroes” are treated as outlaws, WATCHMEN embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel while attempting to break new ground of its own.

Watchmen stars Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Jean Smart, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Hong Chau, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, and James Wolk. The series is produced for HBO by White Rabbit in association with Warner Bros. Television, based on Moore’s graphic novel co-created and illustrated by Dave Gibbons and published by DC.

Damon Lindelof’s Watchmen debuts in October 2019 on HBO.
