This fall, The Leftovers creator Damon Lindelof will return to television with a new Watchmen series for HBO. Set in the same universe created by Alan Moore in the original Watchmen comic, Damon Lindelof’s series will expand on the world with new stories and characters.
While fans have known that Damon Lindelof’s Watchmen will debut in fall for some time now, HBO had yet to announce an official premiere date until today. In a new promo posted on the series’ official Twitter account, HBO confirmed Damon Lindelof’s Watchmen will debut on October 20, 2019.

Here is the official synopsis for HBO’s Watchmen:
Set in an alternate history where “superheroes” are treated as outlaws, WATCHMEN embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel while attempting to break new ground of its own.
Watchmen stars Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Jean Smart, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Hong Chau, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, and James Wolk. The series is produced for HBO by White Rabbit in association with Warner Bros. Television, based on Alan Moore’s graphic novel co-created and illustrated by Dave Gibbons and published by DC.
Damon Lindelof’s Watchmen debuts in October 2019 on HBO.
