Recently, Black Panther co-stars Danai Gurira and Michael B. Jordan attended Variety’s 10 Directors To Watch event. While there, the pair were asked if they could give one secret about the Black Panther sequel. The pair laughed, with Gurira patting Jordan on the shoulder while saying “Killmonger comes back.” Cue laughter. But it’s all in good fun and, to be fair, there’s no way to know if Ryan Coogler would find a way to have Killmonger included via flashbacks, but as of now, he’s as good as dead.
Here, check out the brief exchange with the Black Panther co-stars in the video below
This isn’t the first time where it’s been joked or toyed around about Killmonger returning for a Black Panther sequel. With Avengers: Endgame toying around with time travel, whose to say who else might be resurrected in addition to those wiped out by Thanos? But then, would a Killmonger resurrection cheapen his death similar to Agent Coulson’s being brought back on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. after what his death meant in The Avengers? Would you want to see Killmonger pop up in a Black Panther sequel or in some capacity going forward in the MCU?
