Daniel Craig Reportedly Confirmed To Return For ‘Bond 25’

Daniel Craig is reportedly confirmed to be returning for another outing as James Bond in the twenty-fifth installment of the franchise.

According to The New York Times, two anonymous sources have confirmed that Daniel Craig has indeed closed a deal to play 007 once more. The news comes on the heels of the official announcement from MGM and Eon Productions that Bond 25 will hit theaters in the U.S. on November 8, 2019.

Daniel Craig’s return has been long rumored to be returning for another film. Although the actor was very vocal about wanting to move on from the role during the press tour for Spectre, he was reportedly close to committing to play the role of Bond again in April. While Craig has only fulfilled four of the five films in his contract, the actor candidly revealing that he would have rather slashed his wrists than play the character again may have generated enough negative buzz for his contract to be dissolved.

Despite Daniel Craig’s comments, the actor maintained a good relationship with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli. Following Spectre, Craig starred opposite David Oyelowo off-broadway in Othello which was Broccoli produced. Executive producer Calum McDougall has also confirmed that Craig is still Broccoli as well as Bond producer Michael G. Wilson’s first choice to play Bond.

Franchise veterans Neal Purvis and Robert Wade will pen the script for the 25th installment. The duo has written on every Bond film from the last 18 years ranging from The World is not Enough all the way up to 2015’s Spectre. Eon Productions is rumored to be shooting the film in Croatia.
