Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya recently gave an update about the filming of Marvel’s Black Panther, which is taking place in Atlanta, Georgia, with the actor describing the film as an “African blockbuster” and compared it to HBO’s Game of Thrones.
This is an African blockbuster, bruv. This is like Game of Thrones. This is crazy. And Ryan Coogler is just, man dem. He’s like us! He’s a normal dude, in a Golden State hat and a Tupac T-shirt directing the whole set. It’s the most beautiful thing to see.
Daniel Kaluuya will be playing W’Kabi, the chief of security for the fictional Wakanda and T’Challa’s second-in-command.
Black Panther is directed by Ryan Coogler and stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa (Black Panther), Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross, Daniel Kaluuya as W’Kabi, Angela Bassett as Ramonda, Forest Whitaker as Zuri, Florence Kasumba as Ayo, John Kani as T’Chaka, Sterling K. Brown as N’Jobu, Michael B. Jordan as Erik Kilmonger, Andy Serkis as Ulysses Klaue, Winston Duke as M’Baku (Man-Ape), and Phylicia Rashad.
The film is set to hit theaters on February 16, 2018.
