This is the third Marvel Comics series on Netflix that has been axed. Recently, Netflix canceled both Iron Fist and Luke Cage, leaving some fans wondering if those two shows’ cancellations were as a result of the creative team wanting to merge the shows into a Heroes for Hire series. Some have also speculated that the cancellations have been due to the upcoming Disney+ streaming service debuting in 2019. Now, with Daredevil getting canceled, some are expecting to see Jessica Jones and The Punisher next on Netflix’s chopping block.
With the news about the cancellation of Daredevil hitting the web, many fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment – especially after a strong third season that many have praised as the best season out of all the Marvel Netflix series since Daredevil debuted in 2015.
Much of these reactions reflect on the quality of the series, with some expressing their own hopes and fears about the future of the series and the Daredevil character beyond Netflix:
How do you feel about the cancellation of Daredevil? Do you think with this, Iron Fist and Luke Cage now cancelled, Jessica Jones and The Punisher are next? Will any of these characters make a return perhaps on Disney+? Sound off in the comments below.
Daredevil season 3 stars Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Vincent D’Onofrio, Wilson Bethel, Jay Ali, and Lesley Ann Warren.
