Batman made his comic book debut 80 years ago and Warner Bros. is celebrating the occasion by returning Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy to IMAX screens for a five-city engagement. On Saturday, March 30, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises will screen-back-to-back at Universal Cinema AMC at CityWalk Hollywood, California. Director Christopher Nolan will join the audience for a moderated Q&A session during the interlude between the second and third chapter of the trilogy.
The Dark Knight trilogy will then move to AMC Lincoln Square in New York City and AMC Metreon in San Francisco on April 13 before screening at Cinesphere Ontario Place in Toronto and IMAX Theatre at the Indiana State Museum, Indianapolis, on April 20. Each of these screenings will be accompanied by footage of Christopher Nolan’s aforementioned Q&A session.
All five screenings will show The Dark Knight trilogy in the IMAX 70mm format and Jeff Goldstein, President, Domestic Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures, made the following statement on the upcoming event:
“Christopher Nolan broke new ground with the ‘Dark Knight’ Trilogy, and this is a rare chance for today’s audiences to experience these extraordinary films as they were meant to be seen. To have the added privilege of hearing Chris’s insights firsthand makes this a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
Tickets for all five events will so sale starting Wednesday, March 13, at 9 a.m. Fans who purchase tickets for all three films will receive a lanyard and special “Dark Knight” Trilogy collectible.
