‘Dark Phoenix’: New Look At Jessica Chastain’s Villain With Jean Grey

Dark Phoenix is set to hit theaters this summer, and with that comes a new image showcasing Jessica Chastain alongside Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey.

Courtesy of Universo X-Men on Twitter, a new image from Dark Phoenix shows what almost looks to be a possessed Jean Grey — speculation here — next to Jessica Chastain’s character. The character who has yet to be named, mind you, but many will continue to wonder. Is she Cassandra Nova? Is she really Lilandra after all? There’s no telling just yet, but it looks for sure that Chastain’s character has a special interest in Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey. Here, have a look at the Dark Phoenix image below.

With the mystery surrounding Jessica Chastain’s character, it begs the question of whether she won’t be fully revealed until Dark Phoenix hits theaters. In the meantime, though, what do you think is going on in this picture? Why does Chastain have such an invested interest in Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey? And what do you think this could spell for the rest of the X-Men?

More than that, when do you think we could get another trailer for the Dark Phoenix film? Maybe something comes paired with Alita: Battle Angel? Let us know your thoughts on this and more in the comments below and stay tuned for more Dark Phoenix updates.

Dark Phoenix is written and directed by Simon Kinberg and stars Sophie Turner, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, and Jessica Chastain. The film is set to hit theaters on June 7, 2019.
