Brand New ‘Dark Phoenix’ Poster Tears The X-Men Apart

A brand new poster for 20th Century Fox’s next X-Men project Dark Phoenix has surfaced online ahead of the release of the film’s second trailer.

Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) can be seen front and center on the new poster, with the heroic characters on her left and the villains on the other side. The poster seems to confirm that Beast (Nicholas Hoult) is joining Magneto (Michael Fassbender) in this one, as teased by the film’s first trailer. You can check out the poster below.

The second trailer for Dark Phoenix has been officially rated, meaning that it should be arriving online soon. Just last week, Dark Phoenix director Simon Kinberg teased that “something’ new from the X-Men movie is coming “real soon.”

Veteran X-Men producer Simon Kinberg makes his directorial debut with Dark Phoenix in addition to producing the film with Hutch Parker, Lauren Schuler Donner and Todd Hallowell. Dark Phoenix could be Fox’s final X-Men film featuring the core X-Men cast in the cinematic universe launched by director Bryan Singer in 2000 with the Disney-Fox merger looming on the horizon.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, and Jessica Chastain. Here’s the film’s synopsis:

“In DARK PHOENIX, the X-MEN face their most formidable and powerful foe: one of their own, Jean Grey. During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite — not only to save Jean’s soul, but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.”

Dark Phoenix is set to hit theaters on June 7, 2019. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the X-Men.
