Bautista has been one of Gunn’s biggest and most vocal supporters since the director was fired from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 after a number of controversial and offensive tweets from his past surfaced in July. Gunn had written the script for the project and was set to begin directing the film in January before he was let go and the film was eventually put on hold. Bautista has stood by the director, launching a campaign along with the rest of the Guardians cast to persuade Disney to reconsider their decision to remove Gunn, and even going as far to say that he would drop out of the film should Disney opt not to use Gunn’s script.
Now Bautista is making it clear that he’d be all in to join Gunn’s Suicide Squad sequel. You can check out his tweet below.
Plot details remain under wraps, however, Gunn will reportedly bring a whole new take on the supervillain team-up, leaving it in question as to whether or not the film will bring back the original cast from the first film including Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, and Will Smith, who were previously confirmed, or reboot the property entirely.
