Reddit user OwnTheKnight shared the image below, containing the tribute to David Bowie and Prince.
It is possible that the people behind the movie included a nod to both singers in Justice League as a tribute. This can be spotted in the form of a tabloid in a newspaper that pegs the question if both singers and Superman have left Earth to return to their original planet. This is made in similar fashion to the tabloids that ask the most absurd questions or create the most outrageous theories about current celebrities. One must zoom in to the article to get a full view of the image during Justice League. The image in the article has David Bowie, Superman, and Prince, labeling all three as heroes and asking as to where they have gone. It is truly touching that this was included in the film.
David Bowie passed away on January 10, 2016, and Prince passed away on April 26, 2016. Both singers have accumulated a vast amount of fans around the world for their great work in music. A cover of David Bowie’s”Heroes” was featured in the final trailer for Justice League. While Prince’s work was not recently featured in the film, his work did help bring the famous Caped Crusader to the big screen in 1989’s Batman. Prince helped the music department for Batman by making an album for the film. One of the songs, “Batdance,” even became a popular song at the time.
