‘Shazam!’ Director David F. Sandberg Shares New Behind The Scenes Images

Shazam!’s April release date approaches and director David F. Sandberg shared a new look behind the post-production work.

Aquaman continues to shatter box office expectations and gives Warner Bros. and DC Films some momentum heading into their next release. Shazam! is inching closer to its final cut as post-production work recently started on DC’s next film. Sandberg visited a foley recording stage for the first time in his directing career and shared a video of the artists at work on Instagram:

Grace Fulton (Mary Bromfield) and Asher Angel (Billy Batson) recorded ADR voice-over work in Sandberg’s recent Instagram Story as well. Fulton recorded an intense sequence while Angel provided different, “Shazam!” variations. You can check out screenshots from the Instagram Story below:

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting one word – SHAZAM! – this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart – inside a ripped, godlike body – Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).

Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Asher Angel, Zachary Levi, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Faithe Herman, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans and Djimon Hounsou.

Shazam! will hit theaters on April 5, 2019.
