'Shazam!' director David F. Sandberg trolls fans with a fake poster!
The second film in the Shazam! series was originally meant to be released on April 1st of 2022. Like many other films, the release date was pushed back following production delays due to the coronavirus pandemic. This, however, has not stopped director David F Sandberg from having fun with the delays.
Earlier today, new artwork was released for Robert Pattinson’s upcoming superhero film, The Batman. A fan tagged the Shazam! director in a post that featured the images, telling him it was his turn. David F Sandberg responded with a fake poster that highlighted just how much time it is taking for Shazam! 2 to be made:
What do you all make of this fake Shazam! 2 poster? Did you get a laugh out of it? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
Here is the official synopsis for Shazam!:
We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quick.
Directed by David F Sandberg, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, and Djimon Hounsou.
Shazam! is now available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Stay tuned for all the latest news on Shazam! 2 and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
