David Mazouz Wants ‘Gotham’ To Be Part Of A Larger DC Universe

As it stands right now, Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, and even Constantine all reside inside of the same DC TV universe. Aside from Preacher and Lucifer, Gotham is the only current DC series to not be a part of something larger. But should it? While talking with IGN, 15 year old actor David Mazouz (Bruce Wayne) shared his idea on how to bring Gotham into the larger CW/DC universe.

According to Mazouz, a full on crossover isn’t necessary. To him, an easter egg is sufficient  – but not just any easter egg. Mazouz said he would like to see a young Clark Kent come over to Gotham. With Tyler Hoechlin appearing on Supergirl this season as the big blue boy scout, and a young Clark already appearing in season one (albeit in Kara’s imagination), all the pieces to the puzzle are already there.

David Mazouz: I think it’d be really cool to have a young Clark Kent on the show. To have a 15-year-old Clark Kent. I know in Batman v Superman they played it like Metropolis and Gotham are twin cities, so it wouldn’t be that hard to take a boat ride over for Clark but…

IGN: And Tyler Hoechlin just started playing Superman on Supergirl. Obviously that’s on The CW, a separate universe, but is there any sort of crossover you’d love to do? Look, they have Legends of Tomorrow which is a time jumping show. Maybe they find young Batman at some point.

Mazouz: That’d be amazing. I mean, it might be difficult to work out with the producers and all that kind of stuff, but I would love it. Like I said, as a Batman fan, that would be awesome…. Going back to the Superman, you know, Clark Kent as a teenager saves a busload of kids from drowning, right? It would just be really cool to just start a scene in the GCPD and just pan, like start on a newspaper that says, 15-year-old boy in Metropolis saves busload of kids from drowning. And then just pan up and have a regular scene that has nothing to do with the… throw a little hint..

IGN: Easter eggs.

Mazouz: Exactly, Easter eggs. Referring to the fact that Gotham is a part of a larger DC Universe.

As cool as it would be to see Gotham in a legit DC TV style crossover, the tone of the show is so unique that an easter egg might be the only thing that works. Unless of course, they begin to connect the entire multiverse. For the record, I love the idea about the Legends running into a young Batman while time (and Earth?) jumping. Make it happen, WB.
