DC’s ‘Aquaman’ Reels In Impressive CinemaScore Grading

Now that James Wan’s Aquaman has officially landed on shores, viewers in the States have permission to come aboard and view the most recent installment in the DC Extended Universe. The Jason Momoa-led picture has already snagged in tons of money overseas from audiences who grabbed the bait and were ready to embrace the underwater comic book adventure. And while some still look towards Rotten Tomatoes for an indication of what that site may have as a consensus, there are other avenues to explore. Case in point: CinemaScore.

Last night, the main CinemaScore Twitter account revealed its score for Aquaman, which managed to reel in an A- score. For comparison’s sake, Justice League and Suicide Squad both received a B+, Wonder Woman an A, Batman v Superman a solid B, and an A- for Man of Steel. So as of now, in the eyes of CinemaScore, Arthur Curry’s solo adventure ranks alongside Kal El’s first flight in 2013. Here, have a look at the score and congratulations towards Aquaman in the tweet below:

Again, now that the film is available to view in America, audiences here have a chance to soak up the DC film that’s been making a huge splash and tons of waves overseas. And given how many who pay attention to audience and critical reception have started looking at sites besides the typical Rotten Tomatoes critical consensus, this score is another indication of how well audiences have taken to Aquaman, which can also be reflected in not just reactions online, but the box office gross the film has made thus far, both domestically and internationally.

With that in mind, given how Aquaman’s CinemaScore rating stacks against the rest of the DCEU, what do you think of this rating? Does it accurately reflect your personal feelings of the film? Would you rate it higher or lower? Let us know your thoughts on this grade and your feelings about Aquaman in general in the comments below.

Aquaman is in theaters now.
