DC Event ‘Heroes Ιn Crisis’ Just Killed Off Multiple Fan Favorites

Heroes in Crisis #1 hit shelves and online retailers today and it includes a bloody end for multiple fan-favorite heroes in the DC universe.

Comic books killing off major characters in events for shock value is nothing new but today’s issue of the DC event Heroes in Crisis was able to pull off a major shocker. It’s not just that a character died, but that there are a pile of dead heroes to mourn. Not only was that heart-wrenching, but it’s only made more morbid because the red, yellow and blue boy scout Superman, along with Batman and Wonder Woman, were the ones to find the grisly scene.

The DC event didn’t kill off someone like Wonder Woman or Batman just yet, but a Flash did bite it this issue. Sanctuary was meant to be a place for peace that heroes could feel safe around but DC’s Heroes in Crisis #1 proved that to be very, very wrong. As the trinity approaches Sanctuary, Superman is the first to spot the dead bodies of DC heroes surrounding the area. Among them are Lagoon Boy, Hot Spot, Citizen Steel, Blue Jay and a Green Lantern whose identity has yet to be revealed. Inside the nearby home are even more bodies, including speedster Wally West and Arsenal.

As light and fun and adventurous as comic books can be, sometimes they can throw the reader off guard in the most unexpected of ways. It wasn’t too long ago that in Justice League #6, Batman’s arms and legs were left brutally mangled after fighting Lex Luthor while the two were shrunken and inside of Superman’s body. Yeah, the comics can get pretty weird and pretty violent from time to time.

Fans will have to wait until October 24th for issue #2 to hit the shelves to see how the story continues. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding DC’s Heroes in Crisis as more information becomes available.
