DC Films co-head John Berg discusses The Avengers director Joss Whedon's "big part" in the growing DC Extended Universe with Justice League and Batgirl.
As we learned back in March, Whedon has signed on to write and helm a standalone DCEU movie focusing on the character of Batgirl. Speaking with Variety, DC Films co-head Jon Berg discussed Whedon’s big role in DC’s future cinematic endeavors:
“He’s a big part already. We love him. He’s a great partner, collaborator; we want him to be ensconced. We bring people by, have general meetings and talk about comics and their favorite superhero movies. With Joss, he saw the master board, and he saw a “Batgirl” title and he said, “You guys seriously want to do ‘Batgirl’?” And we said, “Absolutely.” He said, “That’s my jam.””
With two Avengers movies under his belt, Joss Whedon has proven that he’s more than capably of taking on the challenge of finishing Justice League, though his involvement on the project likely means that fans have some waiting to do before they hear more about his plans with the solo Batgirl film.
What do you guys think? Be sure to sound-off your thoughts on Berg’s comments on Joss Whedon’s role in the DCEU in the usual place!
