DC Films Hosting Virtual Convention Leading Up To ‘Wonder Woman 1984’

DC Entertainment is planning its own virtual convention for July.

DC Entertainment is planning a virtual convention in August for fans at home leading into Wonder Woman 1984.

DC Entertainment is opting out of San Diego Comic-Con’s Comic-Con@Home to launch their own virtual convention DC FanDome, a 24-hour event that will take place on August 22nd at 10am PDT. The move will see DC Comics promote the release of Wonder Woman 1984 as well as reveal some new details on upcoming video games, television and film projects.

DC FanDome will also give fans the chance hear from the cast and creators of their favorite franchises like Aquaman, The Batman, Batwoman, Black Adam, Black Lightning, DC Super Hero Girls, Legends of Tomorrow, Stargirl, Doom Patrol, The Flash, Harley Quinn, Lucifer, Pennyworth, SHAZAM!, the SnyderCut, The Suicide Squad, Supergirl, Superman & Lois, Teen Titans GO!, Titans, Watchmen, Young Justice: Outsiders and Wonder Woman 1984. The convention will be divided into 6 different sections that will include “Hall of Heroes, DC Watchverse, DC YouVerse, DC Kidverse, DC Insiderverse and DC Funverse.”

Full details on the Wonder Woman 1984 plot are being kept under wraps, but the highly-anticipated film is said to follow Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince as she comes into conflict with a formidable new adversary named Cheetah and businessman Maxwell Lord. Gadot’s Wonder Woman was last seen in Zack Snyder’s superhero team-up movie Justice League.

Directed by Patty Jenkins from a script she co-wrote with David Callaham and a treatment she developed with Geoff Johns, the film stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Natasha Rothwell, Ravi Patel, Gabriella Wilde, Connie Nielson, and Robin Wright.
