DC & NBC’s ‘Powerless’ Trailer Leaks Early

Well this certainly looks… interesting. Catch an early look at Vanessa Hudgens and Alan Tudyk in all new perspective on the cavalcade of superhero tv shows, the very first sitcom coming to NBC. Hudgens is Emily Locke who plays a claims adjuster who gets to help clean up the messes that superheroes, like the Crimson Fox, leave behind.

Comedy ensues when a new boss comes in (Alan Tudyk) to disrupt the business and have higher denial rates, and also with witty references to DC’s pantheon of characters. Supposedly none of the heavy hitters will make appearances on the show, but judging by the trailer, they have no shame in name dropping. Check out the trailer below!

I’m definitely very curious to see how this show fits in with the current slate of DC properties, especially with recent jettison of ‘Supergirl’ from CBS to CW. What do you guys think? Is this something that you’re going to be watching?

In the first comedy series set in the universe of DC Comics, Vanessa Hudgens (“Grease Live,” “High School Musical”) plays Emily, a spunky young insurance adjuster specializing in regular-people coverage against damage caused by the crime-fighting superheroes. It’s when she stands up to one of these larger-than-life figures (after an epic battle messes with her commute) that she accidentally becomes a cult “hero” in her own right … even if it’s just to her group of lovably quirky co-workers. Now, while she navigates her normal, everyday life against an explosive backdrop, Emily might just discover that being a hero doesn’t always require superpowers.

‘Powerless’ will premiere later this fall on NBC.
