‘Deadpool 2’: Ryan Reynolds Says Search For Cable Is Ongoing

Last night at the Golden Globes, actor Ryan Reynolds did not capture the award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy nor did the film itself take the top prize for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. Of course, that will not end the anticipation for 20th Century Fox’s Deadpool 2 or the speculation on who will be cast in the role of Cable, confirmed to appear in the upcoming sequel since the end of the first film. However, word on who will land the role is likely still a while away as Ryan Reynolds told MTV News the casting process is still ongoing.

During a red-carpet interview with MTVNews, Ryan Reynolds explained that they were still searching for someone to play Cable. Here’s what he had to say on the matter:

“Still working on it, everybody’s still working on it. We’re not gonna start ’til we’re ready.”

Among fans, the popular choice to play Cable is Avatar star Stephen Lang, though the actor himself considers it unlikely that he will land the role.

The Deadpool sequel is currently scheduled to be released on January 12, 2018. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the highly-anticipated movie!
