Although 20th Century Studios’ Deadpool featured more than a few nods to the X-Men film series, the Merc with a Mouth’s first live-action feature film was very much a standalone outing. One of the film’s most significant ties to the past X-Men films was through Colossus, although even this version of the Mutant was different from the previous live-action incarnation.
Now, Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld has shared new concept art for the film that reveals Colossus originally had a different costume. As fans may notice, the illustration features Colossus in a red and yellow suit, which more closely resembles the outfit the character wears in the comics.
You can check out the Colossus concept art below.
Colossus was one of the characters who returned for Deadpool 2.
After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.
Directed by David Leitch from a script written by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick & Ryan Reynolds, Deadpool 2 stars Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin, Julian Dennison, Zazie Beetz, T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand, and Jack Kesy.
Deadpool 2 is now available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD.
