David Leitch On Josh Brolin Playing Cable And Thanos

Josh Brolin is currently slated to be in two of the most anticipated comic book movies of 2018. He will be playing Cable in Deadpool 2, and also Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.

It is not unheard of for one actor to be playing two different characters in separate comic book universes, but it is uncommon. In an interview with CinemaBlend, Deadpool 2 director David Leitch discussed how there were no issues when it came to casting Josh Brolin in the film. Check out the quote below:

“I think everybody in sort of the Marvel and Fox world considered it, and they take their time and make measured moves. But I think everyone thought it was prudent and was okay in terms of the way Thanos is portrayed and Cable is portrayed. They’re very different in styles, and in terms of the way they are presented in the movies, obviously. We couldn’t have cast a better Cable. We were filming last night and both of them were on set, and the chemistry is amazing. It’s such a fun movie to be on. I’m really grateful.”

Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick returned to script the sequel which is currently shooting in Vancouver. Production is expected to continue through September.

In addition to Josh Brolin as Cable and Ryan Reynolds who returns for the sequel as the ‘merc with a mouth,’ Zazie Beetz has joined the cast as Domino. Much of the cast from the first film is also expected to return including Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapicic as the voice of Colossus, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa and T.J. Miller as Weasel.

Deadpool 2 is currently slated to hit theaters June 1, 2018. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding David Leitch and Josh Brolin, and make sure to susbcribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
