‘Deadpool’: Ryan Reynolds Reacts To Oscar Nominations

'Deadpool' star Ryan Reynolds responds to the Academy Award nominations with humor and congratulates this years Oscar nominees.


With two golden globe nominations under its belt and a chance to win a Writers Guild, Producers Guild and Directors Guild award still ahead, many believed that an Academy Award nomination for Deadpool was possible, if not inevitable. Unfortunately, Today the Oscar nominations were announced and in spite of a humorous campaign, Deadpool and the talent people who worked on it have not been nominated. Star Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter to share his reaction to the nominations and, in true Wade Wilson fashion, he took the news with good humor.

Reynolds posted a humorous response while taking the time to congratulate the Oscar nominees.

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Directed by Tim Miller, the film stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano, Leslie Uggams, Brianna Hildebrand and Stefan Kapi?i?.

A sequel is currently scheduled to be released on January 12, 2018.
