‘Deadpool’ Star Ryan Reynolds ‘Weeping’ Over Chris Evans’ Potential Captain America Departure

Yesterday, Captain America actor Chris Evans tweeted that he has officially wrapped on Avengers 4. The nature of Evans’ tweet left many believing that given his gratitude expressed, it seems like Evans is ready to hang up his mighty shield and eager to move on to new things after 8 years. Just from this tweet alone, many expressed their bittersweet sentiment to him potentially leaving Captain America – and one of those fans that are particularly emotional about this is none other than Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds.

Reynolds responded to Evans’ viral tweet hinting at his Captain America departure. It’s hard not to imagine this being an interaction between Captain America and Deadpool in and of itself, but Reynolds’ response is nothing short of humorous, yet touching:

If Evans is in fact finished playing Captain America after Avengers 4, that would likely close the door on potential crossovers between Marvel’s beloved boy scout and the Merc With a Mouth known as Deadpool. With the pending Disney/Fox merger in 2019 and future plans for Deadpool and the X-Men in flux, we may never see Evans’ Captain America and Reynolds’ Deadpool share the screen together, but perhaps we can still see these two beloved actors unite for an upcoming project.

How did you react to Evans’ potential departure? Are you weeping just like Reynolds? Sound off in the comments below, and be sure to continue following Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news about Chris Evans, Captain America, Ryan Reynolds, Deadpool and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
