Elodie Yung's Elektra will appear in Marvel's The Defenders, which will be available to stream on Netflix sometime in 2017.
Elektra was last seen in the season two finale of Marvel’s Daredevil. The character died at the hands of Nobu, but we saw that the Hand was in possession of her corpse and had plans to bring her back from the dead as the mysterious Black Sky. It’s safe to say that she’ll be a villain, but it will be interesting to see whether or not she’ll end up switching sides at some point during the 8-part series.
Yung joins a cast that so far includes Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, Finn Jones, Deborah Ann Woll, Simone Missick, Elden Henson, Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Rachel Taylor, Rosario Dawson, Scott Glenn and Jessica Henwick . Sigourney Weaver will be playing the main villain of The Defenders, but her role is being kept under wraps.
Here’s the official synopsis for the Defenders series:
“Marvel’s The Defenders” follows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.
Marvel’s The Defenders will debut on Netflix in 2017.
