In the season finale, we see Matt bluntly reveal to Karen that he is in fact the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. Fans were left hanging, speculating on how their relationship has changed now that she is the latest person in his life to know his secret. Now, we will see the status of their relationship in the highly-anticipated event. Recently, Deborah Ann Woll hinted that their connection will be explored once again:
“I think you’ll definitely see us pick up and discuss what that is, but it’s also a little bit about figuring out whether I can trust him, or whether he can trust me. We’re in a little bit of that limbo.”
Imagine finding out that your significant other is the masked vigilante continuing to put him/herself in danger. Imagine all the stress that must give you – especially if your own life is already in trouble given that you live in such a dangerous neighborhood already.
Although we will be seeing more of Matt and Karen’s relationship in The Defenders, we will also see Karen’s arc and relationship with Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) explored when Marvel premieres the highly-anticipated The Punisher series later this year.
