‘The Defenders’ Star Mike Colter Confirms Madame Gao Will Return

The Defenders will unite the primary heroes from all four Marvel and Netflix shows as they strive towards the common goal of saving New York City. While fans can safely assume that The Hand and Sigourney Weaver’s character, Alexandra, will prove to be formidable foes for our heroes, the involvement of Madame Gao had remained unconfirmed. Now, series star Mike Colter inadvertently confirmed that Wai Ching Ho will return as Madame Gao in the highly anticipated series.

Colter confirmed the news during a Comicpalooza panel in Houston, where the Luke Cage star responded to an attendees question on Gao’s involvement in The Defenders by incorrectly stating that the character had appeared in the show’s latest trailer.

“We saw Madame Gao [in the trailer]. Gao’s in it.”

While the news is hardly surprising considering Gao has been an ominous presence across all four Netflix shows, the confirmation will be welcomed news for fans eager to see how the mysterious character’s plans will unfold.

“Marvel’s The Defenders” follows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.
