There’s no bit of news that has come out regarding the currently filming sequel to Blade Runner that hasn’t been good news. This latest bit? Well, if you’re a fan of director Denis Villeneuve’s work, you’re going to definitely like this. Composer Jóhann Jóhannsson, who previously worked with Villeneuve on Prisoners and Sicario, revealed on Icelandic radio station RUV that he will once again collaborate with the director on the upcoming Blade Runner sequel as well.
Jóhannsson also provided the score on the director’s upcoming sci-fi film Arrival, which will be hitting theaters later this year. Perhaps we’ll get a small taste of what he has in store with that one? The currently untitled sequel stars Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista, Sylvia Hoeks, Mackenzie David, Barkhad Abdi, Carla Juri Ana de Armas and the recently announced Jared Leto and will hit theaters on October 6, 2017.
