‘Devil May Cry’ Animated Series In The Works From Adi Shankar

In a recent interview, Adi Shankar announced that he had acquired the rights to and would be producing a Devil May Cry animated series.

During the interview, the producer remained rather cryptic about what he had in the works. He stated that that he had acquired the rights to the series partly to keep other people in Hollywood from messing up an adaptation:

I’ve acquired these rights myself so the jabronis in Hollywood don’t f*** this one up too.

He then stated that the series is set to join the Castlevania series in what he called the bootleg multiverse. He then encouraged fans to speculate before suddenly leaving the interview:

Devil May Cry will join Castlevania in what we’re now calling the bootleg multiverse. Let the speculation begin. You can read into that all you want. I’m out.

Shortly after the interview, Shankar tweeted an image that teased the show’s production. In the image attached to the tweet, the producer was dressed like series protagonist Dante in what appeared to be his shop with a caption that stated they were open for business You can see the full Tweet below.

Adi Shankar is, of course, no stranger to video game adaptions. 2017 saw the very well received release of the first season of the Castlevania Netflix show. This year then saw the release of the show’s second season which were both based on the third game in the franchise, Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. The second season was also very well regarded and the show was quickly greenlit for a third season.

What do you all make of this announcement? Are you eager to see Adi Shankar take on the Devil May Cry series? What have you thought of his Castlevania series? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
