Diego Luna Jokes About Meeting Jabba In ‘Rogue One’ Prequel Series

There’s a lot of potential territory to mine in the upcoming Diego Luna-led Star Wars series that will serve as a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which itself is a prequel. And while we ultimately already know what became of Cassian Andor by the end of Rogue One, what adventures await Andor in the times before that film? Well, if you recall, one thing that seemed to pop up for Diego Luna was what exactly Jabba the Hutt’s skin felt like. I mean, who wouldn’t want to touch that skin?

Well, yesterday at the Governor’s Awards, New York Times reporter Kyle Buchanan had a brief opportunity to talk with Diego Luna on the red carpet about the upcoming Star Wars series. More specifically, would Cassian Andor have an opportunity to finally touch Jabba the Hutt’s skin. Luna’s response? “I’m gonna put it in my contract.” All in good fun, sure, but hey, it is a prequel series? Who is to say that Disney wouldn’t want to answer the questions that some in fandom have wondered? Anyway, here’s the exchange and image in the tweet below.

Again, all in good fun, but hey, the series probably won’t kick off production for a while, so there’s no doubt plenty of time for Diego Luna to indeed work it into his contract that he wants to feel Jabba the Hutt’s skin. Someone out there in the Star Wars world has to be willing to take one for the team. Might as well be the guy who we already know will die at the end of Rogue One, so go for it, Cassian Andor!

Still, though, what have been your thoughts on Disney’s announcement that Diego Luna will be helming a prequel series to Rogue One? And what sort of stories would you like to see told? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
