Aladdin retells the cult classic story of a young orphan Aladdin (Mena Massoud) from the streets of Agrabah who befriends a Genie (Will Smith) who changes his life forever. Along the way, he meets the love of his life Princess Jasmine (Naomi Scott) and faces his biggest nemesis, Jafar (Marwan Kenzari) who is looking to rule the city by any means.
Disney’s line-up of live-action remakes continues this July with a re-telling of The Lion King, one of the most revered animated films in the company’s history. Now, long-range tracking indicates Disney’s The Lion King remake in poised to debut in July with a record debut in the $180-$200 million+. Should Disney’s The Lion King open in that range, it would dethrone Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2‘s July opening weekend record of $169.2 million.

Directed by Guy Ritchie from a script he co-wrote with John August, the film stars Will Smith as the Genie, Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine, Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, Navid Negahban as the Sultan, Nasim Pedrad as Dalia, Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders, and Numan Acar as Hakim.
Aladdin is now playing in theatres everywhere!
