Disney Plans To Continue ‘Alien’ & ‘Planet Of The Apes’ Franchises

At Disney’s big CinemaCon presentation, the studio revealed they have plans to continue Fox franchises like Alien and Planet of the Apes.

Disney is now in control of even more beloved franchises now with the ownership of Fox. During Disney’s CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas, the studio shared their desire to continue some notable franchises. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox’s Emma Watts said they have plans for the Avatar, Kingsman, Alien, and Planet of the Apes franchises:

“We intend to do our part, and it is in that spirit that we will continue to create new stories.”

James Cameron has plans for three more Avatar sequels, which are filming right now with the first sequel due out in December 2021. Kingsman: The Great Game will be a prequel set during World War I and was recently pushed back to February 2020. However, there Planet of the Apes and Alien films set for release right now. The Planet of the Apes franchise recently concluded a prequel trilogy while the last Alien film was also a prequel. There have been rumors of Alien TV Shows in development, but nothing has been confirmed.
