So, Disney has released teasers for a lot of films as of recent. Toy Story 4, Dumbo, The Lion King Aveng-oh wait, no, not that one. But there’s also Artemis Fowl coming down the pipeline, too. Yes, Kenneth Branagh’s adaptation of Eoin Colfer’s novel will show you the answers to the questions you ask when the film hits theaters in August of next year. In the meantime, Walt Disney Studios released a teaser trailer for the film today.
And I’ll admit that I know next to nothing about Artemis Fowl, but as the trailer begins with some nice overhead shots, we hear a voice say that “our” world has never been in more danger due to human greed that drove others underground all those years ago to escape from human appetite. The voice warns the boy, most likely Ferdia Shaw’s Artemis Fowl II, that he is not prepared for the truth behind what he seeks.
As the footage continues, we see the young boy and his companion approach a tree and we travel down the hole and enter a futuristic looking world. The voice then tells young Artemis Fowl that it’s now time for him to believe, as he and his companion see a young woman transform right before their eyes. From there, the fight is on as we get some action and battle scenes in the teaser, which you yourself can watch in the video below so you can determine if you believe.
Oh, but wait, we aren’t finished. Just like with Toy Story 4, Disney also released a poster for Artemis Fowl as well, which you can see below.
The trailer does look intriguing, I will say that, and as someone unfamiliar with the source material, the teaser does what a teaser should do: provide just a taste of the world that will be explored. But hey, you probably know more about this than I do, so what did you think of the teaser trailer for Artemis Fowl? Let us know in the comments below.
