Traveling to the galaxy far, far away will soon become a reality as the first ever Star Wars theme park opens this year. During a shareholders meeting on Thursday morning, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced Galaxy’s Edge will open at Disneyland May 31st and in Walt Disney World on August 29th. The highly anticipated theme park will feature a fully immersive experience at the Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu with cantinas, lightsaber building, characters, and two rides.
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will be ready for the May opening at Disneyland, but Rise of the Resistance will launch at a later date. Bob Iger said the delay is because of the state-of-the-art technology being used.
