Disney CEO Bob Iger Reacts To ‘Black Panther’ Oscar Nominations

Black Panther has received numerous Oscar nominations and Disney CEO Bob Iger has expressed his gratitude towards the director and producers of the film.

Award season is upon us and one of the best movies in the comic book genre to date has snagged quite a few noteworthy nominations. Black Panther has made history for all comic book movies with seven nominations at the Oscars. This also marks the first time the genre has ever been nominated in the Best Picture category. Disney CEO Bob Iger showed great enthusiasm to this news and and thanked the people behind the movie on Twitter.

It’s no surprise that Black Panther is the first comic book movie to receive all these nominations. The movie has made history for the genre and received universal acclaim upon its release. If there was any movie in the genre more fitting to earn Best Picture, Black Panther certainly is a fine choice. You can catch the 91st Oscars ceremony on Sunday, February 24, 2019. It will air live on ABC.

Directed by Ryan Coogler from a script he co-wrote with Joe Robert Cole, Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Sterling K. Brown, Florence Kasumba, John Kani, with Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.

Black Panther is now available on Digitial HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD.
