Disney CEO Bob Iger discusses all the brand new 'Star Wars' movies fans can expect to see and anticipate up through 2019.
“We’ve made Star Wars VIII, shot VIII. The title will be announced at some point. That comes out in 2017. And then we have another standalone film, which is the origin story of Han Solo that will come out in 2018. 2019 will be IX with director Colin Trevorrow. That’s being written. We have another standalone Star Wars story that’s in development and we don’t have any other specifics to share with the world right now, but I can guarantee there will be more Star Wars films.”
Sounds like Disney has got their hands full, but the expansions being made to the galaxy far, far away are giving us new characters, fresh stories, and new adventures. The solo films sound like the most exciting part and Iger confirmed that there is another film project currently in development, but wouldn’t give any further details.
For now, Rogue One will have to be enough, but the Star Wars future is bright.
