It was announced last December Disney and Fox would be merging and a little over a year later, the deal may finally be closing according to Variety. Rice broke the news to his employees at a town-hall meeting in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
This means Disney will be obtaining the studio they purchased for $52.4 billion in stock a bit sooner than expected, which means Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios will start to oversee the X-Men and Fantastic Four properties in 2019. However, the studio is still set to release what’s left of their X-Men films with Dark Phoenix and New Mutants in 2019.
