Disney’s Acquisition Of 21st Century Fox Could Be Done By End Of 2018

A new report could indicate that the Fox/Disney merger could be done by the end of this year.

For over a year, fans have been both excited and worried about the studio merger. The people most excited, of course, are Marvel fans. Now that Fox and Disney are joining forces, the Marvel heroes such as the Fantastic Four and the X-Men, will be able to join forces with the likes of Chris Evans’ Captain America and Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark.

Deadline recently reported on a series of promotions at Fox ahead of the Disney merger and within this report, it was mentioned that the Fox/Disney deal could be closed as soon as the beginning of next year. According to Deadline, this is what some insiders have to say about the expected date for the deal to be finalized.

“While some insiders have indicated a deal close is possible by the end of 2018, the official forecast is for early 2019.”

It was previously assumed that the deal would be done by summer 2019 but now it seems that Marvel’s first family could be joining the MCU sooner than previously thought. In a memo sent to Fox employees this morning, Rupert Murdoch wrote:

“Today, we are announcing key leadership appointments across the new Company’s sports, distribution, ad sales operations and corporate functions, effective upon the close of our Disney transaction, anticipated in the first half of the next year.”

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding the Disney/Fox merger as more information becomes available. What are your thoughts on the merger? How would you like to see the X-Men and the Fantastic Four join the MCU? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
