‘Moana’ Extended Olympics TV Spot Released

We recently saw a bunch of new character promos and posters for Disney’s Moana, featuring some of the supporting characters of the movie. Thanks to an extended TV spot, which made its debut during the ongoing 2016 Rio Olympics, we now have another cool sneak peek at the upcoming animated movie.

The TV spot is packed with never-before-seen footage and gives us a good look at some of the villains of the movie, including a massive lava monster and the Kakamora, a group of crazy, coconut-armored pirates. I thought that there were only three of them in this movie, but apparently I was wrong.

You can check it out below.

Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped – and no one knows why.  From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Moana,” a sweeping, CG-animated feature film about an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana (voice of Auliʻi Cravalho) meets the mighty demigod Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), who guides her in her quest to become a master wayfinder. Together, they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity.

Directed by Ron Clements and John Musker and featuring the voices of Auli‘i Cravalho as the titular character, Dwayne Johnson as Maui, Jemaine Clement as Tamatoa, Nicole Scherzinger as Sina, Temuera Morrison as Chief Tui, Rachel House as Gramma Tala and Alan Tudyk as Heihei, Moana is scheduled to hit theaters on November 23, 2016.
