Disney & Pixar Announce ‘Onward’ With ‘Avengers’ Stars Tom Holland & Chris Pratt

Avengers: Infinity War stars Chris Pratt and Tom Holland will headline the upcoming Disney and Pixar film Onward. 

Disney and Pixar have ruled the animation world for years. The quality of the films are arguably consistent in quality and are almost always huge hits critically and financially. It’s even become a joke that during the Academy Awards each year if Disney and Pixar are nominated for the “Best Animated Feature” category then they’re going to win it no matter who else is going up against them.

Now it seems that the 2020 Best Animated Feature contender has just been announced in the form of Onward. The announcement came from Holland’s Instagram account, which was then followed by another announcement from the Pixar Instagram account. The only information released alongside the announcement is the banner, a few story details, the March 6th 2020 release date, and some of the cast which includes Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Octavia Spencer, and Avengers: Infinity War stars Chris Pratt & Tom Holland. Check out the announcement for the film starring the two fallen Avengers in the posts below.

A brief synopsis has also been released alongside some words about the inspiration for the story from director Dan Scanlon.

“Set in a suburban fantasy world, Disney•Pixar’s “Onward” introduces two teenage elf brothers who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there. “At Pixar we try to create stories that come from some kind of personal truth.” said [director Dan] Scanlon. “This film was inspired by my own relationship with my brother.””
