Disney fans were confused on New Year’s Day when they logged onto Disney Plus and realized that classics like Home Alone and The Sandlot were no longer able to be viewed on the streaming service. Of course, Disney Plus fans were outraged to find certain titles remove as the prerogative of Disney Plus was to have anything and everything Disney on the streaming service till the end of times.
This outrage was no small fire as a Disney Plus spoke to Gizmodo to confirm that a small number of titles were removed but will brought back on the Disney streaming service as soon their licenses expire. In addition, some other titles will periodically leave Disney Plus if there are other legacy deals still in place with other streaming services, such as Netflix for example. The titles leaving each region will vary on the respective streaming services each region has.
For example, films removed from Disney Plus U.S. such as Home Alone and The Sandlot are present on Disney Plus Canada. As soon as all these legacy deals expire, Disney Plus will be the mainstay for all that is and ever will be Disney. For now, however, some Disney Plus fans might have to get their Home Alone fix somewhere else.
