Terminally Ill Fan Contacted By Disney About ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Screening

A terminally ill Marvel fan hoping to see Avengers: Endgame ahead of its release this April has been contacted by Disney.

Just last week, a Reddit member with the username alexander_q shared his story on the site’s Marvel Studios community in hopes of getting a chance to watch Avengers: Endgame before it arrives in theaters. In the post, titled “Dying Before April: My Endgame,” Alexander reveals that he’s suffering from liver cancer, mouth cancer and bone marrow failure, and that he doesn’t believe he’ll make it to April. As revealed by the fan this morning, Disney has since reached out to him to discuss options.

In a tweet, Alexander thanked the fans who made this possible before asking them to consider donating towards Fanconi anemia research. Tax deductible donations to the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund can be made by clicking here.

Here’s the official synopsis for Avengers: Endgame:

“A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.”

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame is expected to star Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Paul Rudd, Jeremy Renner, Brie Larson, Josh Brolin and Chris Pratt.

Avengers: Endgame is scheduled to be released in theaters on April 26, 2019.
