Many fans were delighted to see the big reveal at the end of this year’s Shazam! that all of Billy’s foster siblings would also be imbued with the power of Shazam. While there aren’t many images of these characters due to their appearance being a surprise, Shazam! actor DJ Cotrona recently took to Instagram to provide a better look at the Shazam family.
You can check out DJ Cotrona’s images below.
DJ Cotrona played the super hero version of Pedro Pena, one of Billy’s foster siblings. The photos also reveal a better look at Ross Butler as Eugene Choi, Adam Brody as Freddy Freeman, and Meagan Good as Darla Dudley. While many comics fans were expecting a faithful adaptation of the Geoff Johns New 52 Shazam! run, fans were ecstatic when Billy’s foster siblings came together and all became their comic accurate counterparts.
While there hasn’t been any word on if the Shazam family superhero counter parts will return, Shazam! writer Henry Gayden has been tapped to write the sequel so its safe to say we may be seeing more of DJ Cotrona as Pedro. Do you want to see more of the Shazam family? What do you want to see in the Shazam! sequel? Let us know down below!
Here’s the official synopsis for the movie Shazam!:
“We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).”
Zachary Levi’s Shazam! is now playing in theaters. Keep an eye on Heroic Hollywood for the latest news from the DC Extended Universe.
