At Comic-Con 2017, Noah Hawley announced he was developing a film about Fantastic Four villain Doctor Doom and the writer completed his script for the 20th Century Fox project in 2018. However, Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox’s entertainment assets will soon bring the Fantastic Four characters under the control of Marvel Studios and company president Kevin Feige, leaving the future of Noah Hawley’s Doctor Doom film in an uncertain state. However, Noah Hawley offered fans some insight into his vision for the story and tone of his Doctor Doom movie, noting how it would be unlike most superhero films.
Noah Hawley described the film as a geopolitical thriller that would begin with Doctor Doom putting a dome over the fictional country he rules called Latveria. Doctor Doom would then invite a female journalist to be his voice to the world. Unfortunately, Noah Hawley noted that he is currently uncertain if the project will move forward after the deal between Disney and Fox closes, as Kevin Feige did not provide a direct answer on whether or not he should continue working on the project.
