Comic-Con: ‘Doctor Strange 2’ Title & Release Date Officially Revealed

Benedict Cumberbatch is set to return as Marvel’s Sorcerer Supreme in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which is slated to hit theaters on May 7, 2021. Scott Derrickson is back in the director’s chair.

The cast of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness also includes Elizabeth Olsen, reprising her role as Scarlet Witch. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige broke the news at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.

Marvel Studios has also revealed the official logo for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. You can check it out below.

Doctor Strange brought mysticism and alternate universes to the forefront of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Derrickson wrote the first film along with Jon Spaihts and C. Robert Cargill. The current plan is to have the script ready by the end of 2019 in time for a spring 2020 production start.

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers:Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo,  Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.
