The Sorcerer Supreme is pretty good at thinking on his feet.
Since Avengers: Endgame was the culmination of every single film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’d be easy to think that Kevin Feige would be strict on making sure that every detail in the climactic film was tightly written, shot and acted from everyone onboard. But according to Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson, Benedict Cumberbatch actually improvised one of the most important moments in Endgame without saying a word.
The director had tweeted about the upcoming U.S. Presidential election, noting that in a week’s time, the world will feel very different – regardless of the outcome. One of the responses he got used a gif of Doctor Strange holding up a finger to Tony Stark in Avengers: Endgame (signifying that it was the one reality the heroes could beat Thanos). Derrickson added some levity to the situation by revealing that the moment was actually improvised by Cumberbatch himself. Take a look below.
