Marvel's 'Doctor Strange' crosses the $100 million mark at the domestic box office and is expected to be #1 on its second weekend.
As of today, the Scott Derrickson-directed film will cross the $100 million U.S. mark. The 14th entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has also earned $240.7 million at the international box office, and culminates to $339.6 million worldwide.
The film is also expected to be #1 at the box office for the second weekend in a row, beating out Paramount Pictures’ newest film, Arrival which stars Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker. Marvel’s Doctor Strange follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilizing a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel cinematic universe.
