We’re now less than two months away from the release of Scott Derrickson’s Doctor Strange, meaning that we’ll be seeing a lot more of the Sorcerer Supreme until his standalone movie finally arrives in theaters. That said, the highly anticipated movie is featured on two brand new covers for the latest issue of Empire Magazine, which give us another look at Strange alongside the Ancient One, Baron Mordo and Wong.
The magazine also had the chance to speak with Strange himself, Benedict Cumberbatch, who revealed that he initially thought that he lost the coveted role due to a scheduling conflict with Hamlet:
“I really did think I had to kiss it goodbye. If you can’t jump on board when the ride’s going past. that’s usually it, so the hugest compliment they paid me was to come back to me. It motivated me to try to fulfill their faith in me.”
